Scope of Role

 

We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector Supervisor, PQC - Night Shift to oversee and manage the quality inspectors on the production floor of the plant. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that Process Quality Control (PQC) inspectors are performing all required inspections to SOP, all records are complete and accurate, and that all quality issues are being communicated to Process, Equipment and Production in a timely manner. The Supervisor will coordinate daily PQC inspection activities, develop Inspector skillsets, and partner with process, engineering, and production to support manufacturing goals.  This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

 

  • Supervise, schedule and direct the daily work of the PQC teams
  • Provide coaching, training and performance feedback to PQC inspectors to support professional growth
  • Conduct regular standup meetings to communicate updates, performance expectations, and quality concerns.
  • Oversee quality control checks and inspections on the production floor to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Monitor production processes and workflows to identify and address quality issues proactively.
  • Initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve quality discrepancies.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, certifications, and regulations (e.g., ISO, OSHA, environmental standards).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of quality assessments, audits, and compliance reports.
  • Foster a collaborative and performance-driven culture within the PQC team.
  • Regularly report quality metrics, issues, and progress to senior management.
  • Serve as a point of contact for quality-related concerns from the production team.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align quality objectives with production goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

 

  • Post High School accreditation or Associates Degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 0-3+ years of experience in a quality assurance/control role, preferably in a manufacturing environment (solar manufacturing experience is a plus).
  • Proven experience managing teams, including hiring, training, and performance management.

Desired Skills

 

  • >5 years’ experience working in the solar energy industry, particularly with solar modules or photovoltaic systems.
  • Familiarity with solar module manufacturing processes, performance testing, and quality standards.
  • Knowledge of U.S. energy regulations and compliance requirements for solar technologies.
  • Certifications in solar energy technologies or project management (e.g., NABCEP, PMP).

The range for this position is $63,086.00 - $86,743.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
