The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Role Purpose
The Senior MES Developer / Support is responsible for the design, development, implementation, enhancement, and ongoing support of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions that enable efficient and reliable manufacturing operations. This role serves as a key technical resource bridging enterprise systems and shop floor operations, ensuring MES applications and integrations support business requirements, operational performance, and continuous improvement.
The individual in this role will work closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Automation, and IT teams to develop new MES capabilities, support production systems, resolve complex technical issues, and improve system performance, usability, and reliability. This position also serves as a primary escalation point for critical MES-related site issues and provides technical leadership and mentorship within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, configuration, enhancement, and deployment of MES applications and solutions supporting manufacturing operations.
- Translate business, operational, and technical requirements into scalable MES designs, workflows, data models, and technical solutions.
- Develop clean, efficient, maintainable code using object-oriented programming principles and established development standards.
- Work cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Automation, and IT to define design, modeling, scripting, and integration requirements.
- Support integration of MES with enterprise and shop floor systems, including ERP, databases, machine interfaces, automation systems, and reporting tools.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for MES-related production issues and ensure timely troubleshooting, root cause analysis, corrective action, and resolution.
- Provide advanced support for MES applications in a live manufacturing environment, including break/fix support, performance monitoring, system troubleshooting, and issue prevention.
- Identify and drive improvements in existing MES processes, application design, scripting, documentation, and training to improve workflow efficiency and system effectiveness.
- Support system testing, validation, deployment, and change control activities in alignment with business and regulatory requirements where applicable.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, support procedures, and user training materials.
- Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in MES development, support, and issue resolution.
- Support on-site operations and adapt to the dynamic needs of a manufacturing environment.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Manufacturing Systems, or a related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
- 10+ years of experience in MES development, implementation, integration, and support within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with MES platforms such as Rockwell FactoryTalk ProductionCentre, Camstar, Siemens Opcenter, or similar systems.
- Strong experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java or C#.
- Strong experience with relational databases and database technologies such as SQL Server and Oracle.
- Proven experience supporting and troubleshooting business-critical or production-critical applications in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with web services and integration technologies including REST, SOAP, and WSDL.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and operational teams.
Desired Skills
- Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Familiarity with PLC communication protocols and machine/equipment integration.
- Experience with manufacturing reporting, data analytics, or visualization tools.
- Experience in regulated manufacturing environments.

The range for this position is $92,830.00 - $127,641.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
