Position Description                                                                                                        

Purpose of the Position:
• Works with other team members to solve difficult technical, equipment related problems. Supports or leads continuous improvement activities, new equipment or process introductions and cost reduction projects. Supports drive to fundamental understanding and lowest cost producer objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provides day-to-day problem solving support to production, development and research operations.
• Trains operators and trades personnel on new equipment.
• Uses rigorous equipment technical knowledge to build detailed technical understanding for key process steps.
• Functions as a team member or team leader on focused projects.
• Trouble shoots material, process and equipment issues, identifies root cause and implements corrective action.
• Implements and documents material, process and/or equipment changes.
• Uses simple engineering tools in dealing with problems.

 

• Supports new product introductions through equipment installation, process certification, documentation and training.
• Assures safety of operators and equipment and Complies with safety and environmental regulations.
• Develops SME knowledge of material, process and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering.
• Executes cost reduction and improvement (DMAIC/Capital) projects in line with business objectives.

Education & Experience 
• BS degree or above in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5~7 years’ experience on the position of equipment engineering in manufacturing environment.
• Experiences in working with and/or supervising project teams.
• Solid project management experience demonstrated.
• Former experience with involvement in earlier stage innovation programs preferred.

 

Required Skills                                               
• Proficient in mechanical principals, mechanical design and Equipment engineering.
• Knowledgeable of manufacturing systems and have adequate technical expertise.
• Rich experiences on production floor equipment, good experience with mechanical design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Solidworks)
• Systematic way of problem solving and decision making, preferred experience on KT, DMAIC, MEE.
• Strong project management skills
• Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with FMEA and/or PQA
• Fluent in written and oral English.
