The intern will help accelerate technical understanding and provide data-driven recommendations for project decisions.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Review literature and prior technical information related to organosilicon chemistry, polysilazane chemistry, crosslinking, hydrolysis/alcoholysis reactions, and coating applications.
  • Design and execute laboratory experiments under guidance, including formulation preparation, reaction screening, coating trials, curing studies, and basic performance evaluation.
  • Use appropriate characterization tools such as FTIR, NMR, viscosity measurement, thermal analysis, surface/property testing, and other available analytical methods to understand reaction progress and material performance.
  • Analyze experimental data, summarize key findings, and propose next-step experiments or formulation improvements.
  • Prepare concise technical updates, lab reports, and presentation materials for project reviews.
  • Follow all laboratory safety, chemical handling, documentation, and intellectual property requirements.
