Key responsibilities:

 

• The individual will work in the Technical Automotive Glass Center (TAGC), Corning Shanghai. Primary responsibilities include planning and performing standard and non-standard materials tests for auto interiors industry.

• Tests include exposure to environmental (temperature, humility, thermal cycling, solar radiation, etc.), chemical, and mechanical (vibration etc.) stresses.

• Test specimen include glass, inks, adhesives, coatings, and other structural materials, at component and display module levels.

• The position is also responsible for analyzing & articulating technical data to support customer (both internal and external) problem solving and promote value proposition of Corning’s AutoGrade glass solutions, evaluating product designs and providing feedback/solution in order to meet auto industry requirements.

•  Expect travel < 25%.

 

Key skills required:

 

• Technical background in materials engineering/sciences

• Hands-on in designing and performing experiments independently, data collection/analysis, and report writing

• Good communication skill

• Experience with glass technology is a strong plus An advanced degree (PhD or MS) in Materials Engineering, Materials Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines, with >2 years’ industry experience, is required.

• Automotive industry experience is a plus.
