Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory experiments to support troubleshooting, develop new processes, and prototype new products in glass finishing, emphasizing glass etching, ion-exchange, cleaning, and mechanical finishing.
- Act as a liaison between the research team and production units, providing on-demand on-site support to facilitate the introduction and adoption of lab-developed technologies. Collaborate closely with teams to ensure effective implementation of new processes.
- Coordinate and manage test requests across business units, ensuring timely delivery of urgent requests and assisting in developing new testing methodologies.
Education & Experience
• Master’s or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in the glass industry or R&D, with a strong focus on glass finishing processes.
Required Skills
• Deep expertise in material surface finishing processes such as etching, ion-exchange, cleaning, and mechanical finishing.
• Strong problem-solving skills from a chemistry and materials science standpoint.
• Familiarity with advanced microscopy and surface characterizations.
• Proficiency in conducting and scaling up lab experiments for production environments.
Desired Skills
• Flexibility to travel on-demand for on-site support.
• Project management capabilities.
• Skills in mechanics and experience with technology transfer from R&D to production are significant plus.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both Chinese and English environments for effective collaboration.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving approach.
