The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

 

 

Function/Dept Purpose Statement:

Responsible for purchase and availability of spares, consumables and service after plant startup.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work with GSM team to set up MRO buying systems
  • Ensure 100% availability of MRO Items in plant.
  • Work closely with Storeroom supervisor to maintain stock of regular (min. stock) items
  • Ensure compliance with GBP during MRO purchasing
  • Making contracts for services for Plant.
  • Assist Supply Chain Lead in negotiations for locally sourced materials
  • Well versed with new part development or alternate sourcing.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in engineering
  • Minimum 10 + years’ experience of purchasing  activities in a small to mid-sized organization
  • Experience working with Peoplesoft
  • Experience working with a MNC
  • Green field project experience or Expansion project
  • Experience (team member) in setting up new ERP system
