The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

 

 

SCOPE/PURPOSE OF POSITION:  

The primary objective is to develop dashboards used to monitor the performance of IT.  This role will collaborate with IT service lines to provide stakeholders with timely access to reliable performance metrics and IT data analytics that can be used to manage day-to-day performance, drive strategic decisions and improve the overall quality of IT products and services.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Responsible for the design, configuration, management, control, training and communication of the processes and systems responsible for measuring and reporting IT data, including but not limited to performance metrics, SLA/OLA calculations, service provider penalties/waivers, IT inventory, creating ServiceNow dashboards, etc. 
  • Develop reports and dashboard from multiple source systems to manage day-to-day and future operations. 
  • Develop executive dashboards and summary scorecards to multiple levels of leadership. 
  • Coordinate with Process Managers, Performance Leads, Service Owners, Service Providers and Tower Leads to create or refine process and service metrics. 
  • Inspect, cleanse, transform, and model data with the goal of discovering useful information, suggesting conclusions, and supporting decision-making.  
  • Apply data mining techniques, conduct statistical analysis, and draw conclusions applicable to the business. 
  • Develop, implement, and monitor metrics for process effectiveness, adoption, efficiency, and outputs in alignment with industry benchmarks. 
  • Other duties as requested. 

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS 

  • Minimum of associates degree in relevant field; bachelor's degree preferred 

 

WORK EXPERIENCE 

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant operational experience 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS 

  • Experience and understanding of relational databases.
  • Fluency in SQL to write and debug complex queries.
  • Strong experience with PowerBI (DAX, m-query, data structure)
  • Experience with database design & technologies. 
  • Experience with dashboards and automation of IT analytics. 
  • Effective organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities. 
  • Project Management skills. 
  • Excellent communications, interpersonal and influencing skills. 
  • Must be a self-motivated, able to work in team environment and motivate others. 
  • Self-confident, results-oriented, persuasive, and influential. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • High attention to detail and capable of seeing patterns in data.

DESIRED SKILLS 

  • Experience in Analytical Design
  • Experience of cloud data platforms such as Databricks
