Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for the overall planning, execution, and control of the manufacturing operations to ensure that products are manufactured efficiently, on time, and to the required quality standards. This includes managing resources, optimizing processes, and leading a team to achieve production targets while adhering to safety and compliance regulations.
  • Champion process control and change management efforts to adapt to upstream and downstream operations changes, drive improvement to process capability and mitigate resultant process variation in own department.
  • Provide supervision to section supervisors, team leaders, technicians, and engineers, including effective management of key resources and overall talent management objectives.
  • Build and maintain close relationships with other operations departments to share and receive feedback on upstream and downstream operations (e.g., anticipated downtime) and, in turn, optimize performance of production operations.
  • Facilitate and monitor all process/equipment changes and experimental plans involving the production process, including process improvement, new product trial runs, equipment/tooling redesign, raw material, batch and/or component changes.
  • Responsible for personal safety, the safety of co-workers and promoting a safe work environment; responsible for carrying out all work activities in compliance with Safety & environmental regulations.
  • Lead projects in Manufacturing/Operations area such as OEE & Quality yield improvement, New Product implementation, Transfer of new product or process, etc.
  • Lead root cause analysis activity related to Process & Equipment failures through Problem Solving approaches (DMAIC, MEE etc.).
  • Monitoring & analyzing process data, identifying trends & proposing solutions for process improvement continuously through statistical process control (SPC)
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate waste & improve efficiency.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical Engineering) from premium institute
  • Experience and understanding of process management systems, process control and discipline techniques, Lean Manufacturing principles & Six Sigma methodology.
  • Excellent problem-solving & analytical skill with ability to resolve complex process issues.
  • Effective communication & interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams & stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of Safety & Quality
  • Proven capability to manage, coach, direct and develop salaried exempt and non- exempt employees, training in employee effectiveness, conflict resolution, coaching, listening skills, supervisory effectiveness.
  • Experience with leading teams and projects to meet significant continuous improvement goals, cost reduction or performance improvement initiatives.
  • Green Belt certified in Performance Excellence (Six Sigma), Lean Sigma and DMAIC methods.
  • Worked in Similar capacity & responsibility for at least 12yrs. to 15yrs. in a firm of repute.
