The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

The IT senior manager, Information Technology India will be responsible to lead the information technology organization based out of India. This role is responsible to drive the global and regional IT strategy initiatives in India and drive value through technology enablement, establishing a larger IT footprint in India, and developing talent in support of Corning’s long-term strategy.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Drive operational excellence, support business transformation initiatives through technology enablement and champion IT security to protect Corning assets.
• Expand and oversee all technology operations in India, as per the global and regional IT strategy.
• Understand organizational needs and recommend solutions that leverage the IT talent pool in India.
• Assist in building and nurturing relationships with global suppliers based out of India.
• Support the global IT organization to get efficient and cost optimized services from India.
• IT project management and strategic business partnership on key initiatives e.g. SAP deployment
• Build the IT organization in India. Ensure a culture of meritocracy and transparency in line with the organizational values.
• Develop and retain the IT talent in India.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Engineering degree with minimum 12 years of diversified IT work experience.
• Relevant progressive functional leadership experience of at least 3 years with a multinational company in India.  
• Prior experience of setting up a captive IT organization in India with direct leadership accountability, supporting global operations will be ideal.
• Candidate should have worked with a manufacturing or product-based organization.
• Hands on experience in project management.
• Hands on implementation experience of full life cycle, complex enterprise-wide IT solutions. 
• Prior experience of SAP deployment will be an added advantage.
• Proven track record of leading large teams in a global matrix organization.
• Strong communication skills at the employee and executive level
