Purpose of the Position:
- Seeking senior facility equipment engineering resource to lead initiatives related to facility equipment design, construction, commissioning, upgrade and maintenance of Corning manufacturing infrastructure and associated equipment.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Extend sustainability COE capability/products to support design(research), development and engineering for products and manufacturing process technologies with sustainability.
- Facility equipment and utility system design, installation, commissioning and start up
- Facility system optimization, cost down and energy saving engagement
- Knowledge and experience in HVAC, gas, water, firefighting, and associated systems is highlighted.
- Draft, review and implementation technical proposal in project.
- Issue weekly/monthly report related to safety, schedule, cost, and quality for construction
- Work with Contractor, project team, safety team and construction leaders to address any installation issues.
Project involved with:
- May require up to 75% travel for project support mainly in Asia region.
- Communication with multiple stake holders such as plant facility engineering teams or division engineering team.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and above in environmental engineering, thermal and dynamic engineering, or related field of study.
- Experience in project initiation, design, implement and close out.
- Overseas educational experience is a plus.
- Experience in construction permitting is a plus.
Required Skills
- Background in facility equipment engineering with 5+ of experience in plant construction projects or expansion projects
- Rich experience in construction site management
- Experience working effectively with contractors
- Knowledge of construction practices
- Knowledge of facility system design, installation and hook up processes
- Knowledge of project permits/close out procedure is a plus
