Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

Responsible for creation of Corning badges for Corning personnel and visitors in accordance with company policy and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Seeks supervisory direction for issues crossing into other functional areas or with broad impacts. 
  • Limited supervision.
  • No instruction needed on routine work. 
  • General instructions and/or independent leeway given on new projects or special assignments. 
  • Schedule own work to meet completion dates. 
  • Assigns appropriate confidentiality status to information and may take action to ensure compliance.
  • Recommends changes in methods or procedures. 
  • Contributions influence major work streams.
  • Contacts are frequent within and outside own organization. 
  • External contacts involve obtaining or providing information on matters of moderate importance to the organization and may be of a sensitive nature. 

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Associates Degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Moderate job content knowledge
  • Fluent in english (no exceptions)
  • Office skills: Word, Excel, Power Point
  • 3- 5 years of experience in similar role

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Successful track record of performance in chosen field
  • 5+ years relevant work experience
  • LENEL experience/knowledge is a plus
