Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Job Summary: The IT Business Analyst will play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and IT solutions. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The IT Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing IT solutions that enhance business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Gathering: Work closely with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements. Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to understand business needs and objectives.
  • Process Analysis: Analyze current business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Develop process maps and documentation to support analysis.
  • Solution Design: Collaborate with IT and business teams to design and implement IT solutions that meet business requirements. Ensure that solutions align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Project Support: Provide support throughout the project lifecycle, including planning, execution, and monitoring. Assist in developing project plans, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data to provide insights and recommendations. Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and other documentation to stakeholders.
  • Change Management: Support change management efforts by developing training materials, conducting training sessions, and providing ongoing support to end-users.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that IT solutions meet quality standards and comply with organizational policies and procedures. Conduct testing and validation to ensure that solutions function as intended.
  • Administrative and Organizational Support: Assist the Solution Architects in organizational and administrative tasks. This includes coordinating schedules, managing documentation, preparing meeting agendas, and ensuring effective communication between teams. Act as a liaison to facilitate smooth operations and ensure timely follow-up on key deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in business analysis or a related role. Experience with business process modeling and IT solution design is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in business analysis tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Visio, PowerBI).
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, software development, and system integration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or similar certification.
  • Experience working with global teams.
  • Fluent in English.

Working Conditions:

  • This position may require occasional travel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
