Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

The purpose of this position is to provide consultative and operational compensation and benefits consultation and support to Corning and its business units. This position is focused (but not limited) on the Latin-Americas region to ensure that: • COE programs/processes/policies support the attraction and retention of the number and type of talent required to execute corporate strategy • COE programs/processes/policies establish and reinforce Corning Values and positive work environment, while complying with all legal and regulatory requirements • COE key stakeholders fully understand the value, benefit, and use of COE programs/processes/policies. Ensures standards and guidelines are understood and consistently applied • COE programs/processes/policies meet or beat quality and delivery expectations • Financial decisions and recommendations support top quartile cost performance objectives while maintaining appropriate levels of HR service delivery • Compensation and benefit programs are aligned with Corning’s overall Total Reward philosophy and framework Day-to-Day Responsibilities: • Develop excellent working relationships with business unit HR • Managing the annual process of salary survey participation and the creation of salary ranges for use by our businesses. • Make recommendations to business unit HR and managers regarding base salary levels, appropriate grading, and total compensation opportunity. • Conduct routine reviews of the external markets to ensure that Corning is participating in the most competitive and appropriate surveys and makes recommendations on new surveys, tools and resources. • Provide analytical expertise. • Provide “in-house consultant” services to Corning Business Units around competitive compensation and benefits practices to ensure they align with their strategic objectives. • Obtain a functional knowledge related to compensation and benefits in areas of compliance, legal and audit. • Ensure that the governance and administration of various compensation and benefits programs are in compliance with established guidelines, processes, and procedures. • Implement/deliver new programs to our business units. • Partner with the COE Communications Manager and develops training/ communication materials. • Drive our harmonization efforts in Brazil and Mexico. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE For this role we are looking for a HR and/or Compensation & Benefits professional at a Bachelor or higher level and with 2-4 years of experience. Required Skills DESIRED SKILLS Speaking and writing both in Spanish and English is a must. You also have a good understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices and standards related to compensation and benefits, and knowledge of industry practices. You have worked with and understand the importance of HRIS systems (we work with SuccessFactors). SOFT SKILLS You are result-focused team player with proven analytical, communication and influencing skills, who is inquisitive, able to learn quickly and keen to throw yourself into new experiences. You understand how to manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper buy in and timely engagement. You are high on energy and able to manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities.
