Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

Apply technical concepts to improve product and information flow, define relevant costs, and operational cost per unit, reduce complexity, and follow up on day to day capital administration, and the correct and optimized use of resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assures that Cost models are updated and accurate for different manufacturing scenarios.
  • Layout Stretch cost target plan by basket of goods.
  • Support accuracy for Activity rates and operational budgets.
  • Works with operation and SC to define planning capacity in ERP.
  • Assures alignment and provide input into Program staff.
  • Manage and keeps up with Capital needs and spending for the program 

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor's in Industrial or other Engineering.
  • 5+ years of related experience in manufacturing.
  • Cost modeling experience managing different scenarios and ambiguity.
  • Manufacturing business processes accumen.
  • Process simulation model development.
  • Ability to deliver under tight deadlines and handle multiple/detail-oriented tasks.
  • Proficient English.
  • Sound decision-making and prioritization skills.
  • Strong data analysis and statistical skills.
  • Data analytical software (SPSS, Minitab, SPC XL).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing accounting and control. 

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Capacity analysis
  • Line balance/staffing, work cell design
  • Value Stream Mapping
  • SAP Knowledge.   
  • Knowledge of basic inventory management techniques, planning systems / scheduling systems, supply chain management
  • Knowledge of manufacturing excellence tools (AME, KT, Lean).
  • Strong Leadership Skills to effectively manage cross functional teams
  • Proficiency with key PC software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Databrics, Planview)
  • Project Management experience
  • Demonstrated delivery of results through project with Cost Reduction, Methodologies and organizational leadership.
