Role Purpose
Entry position for a fully pledged Engineering profession. Responsible for promoting an environmentally safe and healthy work environment for all employees throughout the manufacturing facility and to maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations. Integrate transfer and new technology projects as a functional leader to ensure Safety and Environmental compliance. Facilitating and communicating Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) programs and policies. Maintain and analyze key performance metrics. Deploy Corning Responsible guidelines for pandemic efforts. Drive enforcement of all Corporate EHS policies, standards, and procedures on a Campus level. Responds to EH&S emergencies and recommends corrective and preventive actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with and report to other engineers and project managers as dictated by project complexity as well as expand on knowledge base and experience.
- Continue with the site ISO 14001:2015 & 45001:2018, GSS & GES environmental, health and safety management system; assuring accurate and complete EHS metrics reports of corrective actions, EHS observations and regulatory requirements on a timely basis.
- Maintain and analyze S&E records, managing Corporate centralized integration software.
- Work with site leadership to develop the EHS Annual Plan and track accomplishments.
- Lead of reporting, tracking, and trend analysis of workplace injuries when they occur and ensure corporate reporting standards are followed.
- Maintains metrics of plant EHS performance and provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting.
- Conducts EHS audits, support on inspections and maintain legal required documentation.
- Determine the training needs of multidisciplinary teams.
- Interacting with all EHS leads, plant Staff, EHS specific assignations related to EHS to improve.
- Detection and assessment of safety risks to avoid incidents, recordable cases, and possible SIF's.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree/ equivalent experience in Environmental and Safety Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in an S&E role at a manufacturing facility or working experience in a similar environment.
- Knowledge of S&E regulations, ISO 14001 & 45001 certification process
- Fully Bilingual proficiency
- Strong computer skills
