JOB TITLE:      Environmental Health & Safety Engineer Jr

  1. Purpose of Position.   
  1.  Entry position for a fully pledged Engineering profession. Responsible for promoting an environmentally safe and healthy work environment for all employees throughout the manufacturing facility and to maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state and local environmental and safety regulations. Integrate transfer and new technology projects as a functional leader to ensure Safety and Environmental compliance. Facilitating and communicating Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) programs and policies. Upkeep and analyze key performance metrics. Deploy Corning Responsible guidelines for pandemic efforts. Drive enforcement of all Corporate EHS policies, standards and procedures on a Campus level. Responds to EH&S emergencies, , and recommends corrective and preventive actions 

 

  1. Mention the major responsibilities and tasks of the position.
  1.    Work with and report to other engineers and project managers as dictated by project complexity as well as expand on knowledge base and experience.
  2.   Maintain and analyze S&E records, managing Corporate centralized integration software.
  3.  Work with site leadership to develop the Safety Annual Plan and track accomplishments
  4.  Leads and Assist Pandemic activities and efforts to review and upkeep controls such as perform site audits and verification of actions on a Campus level
  5. Aid with reporting, tracking, and trend analysis of workplace injuries when they occur and ensure corporate reporting standards are followed
  6. Maintains metrics of plant EHS performance and provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting    
  1. List the two most complex decisions indicative of this function and its impact to the function, department and/or corporation.
  1.            Interacting with all EHS leads, EHS specific assignations related to Safety to improve

6.    Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements.

 

 A. Education.

  •           Bachelor’s Degree/Equivalent Experience                                       

       B. Work Experience.

  •                        0-2 years of experience in an S&E role at a manufacturing facility, Relevant Internship or working experience in a similar environment                   

 C. Additional Skills.

  •                  Basic Knowledge of S&E regulations, Knowledge of ISO14001 certification process, Good verbal and written communication skills, Fully Bilingual proficiency, Strong computer skills                

      

7. Extraordinary Activities.

A. Contribute and participate in Internal and External Audits in department, as well as being responsible for the good results of such.

    Some examples of Audits are: ISO, TL, 5's, Safety, Environmental, Corporate, Sarbox, among others.
