JOB TITLE: Environmental Health & Safety Supervisor

DEPARTMENT:            Environmental Health & Safety                                                            


Purpose of Position.   

Entry position for a fully pledged Engineering profession. Responsible for developing and implement Environmental, Safety and Health  programs that complies with all applicable federal, state and local regulations. Integrate transfer and new technology projects as a functional leader to ensure Safety and Environmental compliance.  Responsible to conduct, study and prepares environmental impact reports out of the plant processes.  Facilitating and communicating Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) programs and policies. Upkeep and analyze key performance metrics.  Review and analyze environmental documents generated by regulation agencies, determine impact and inform to appropriated leadership level for decision making.  Deploy Corning Responsible guidelines for pandemic efforts. Drive enforcement of all Corporate EHS policies, standards and procedures on a Campus level. Responds to EH&S emergencies, and assure the proper implementation of corrective and preventive actions.


Through leadership skills develop and implement environmental and safety objectives aligned to business strategy to assure the appropriate safety risk management.  Responsible of the execution and compliance of the department objectives and projects associated to risk prevention.


  1. Mention the major responsibilities and tasks of the position.
  • Monitoring and follow up core teams for HIRAs, JSA, incidents, risk analysis, EPP evaluation and safety gembas.
  • Evaluation and authorization of external worker scope of work, LOTO, work in heights, welding and cut, confined spaces, electrical and others
  • Participation in the implementation of all Corporate Safety Standards
  • Elaborate, plan and execute all training related EH&S
  • Promoting and executing continuous improvement program such PBS and kaizen
  • Establish both environmental and safety objectives
  • Execute on time assigned projects
  • Inform metrics of plant EHS performance and provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting    
  • Administration of the environmental management system (ISO14001)
  • Supervision of personnel and manage their payroll
  • Create and execute career development programs for direct report
  •   Maintain and analyze S&E records, managing Corporate centralized integration software.

           Interacting with all EHS leads, EHS specific assignations related to Safety to improve

  Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements.

  A. Education.

  •           Bachelor’s Degree/Equivalent Experience                                       

  B.      Work Experience.

  •                        +5 years of experience in an S&E role at a manufacturing facility, Relevant Internship or working experience in a similar environment                   

 C. Additional Skills.

  •                  Basic Knowledge of S&E regulations, Knowledge of ISO14001 certification process, Good verbal and written communication skills, Fully Bilingual proficiency, Strong computer skills                


7. Extraordinary Activities.

A. Contribute and participate in Internal and External Audits in department, as well as being responsible for the good results of such.

    Some examples of Audits are: ISO, TL, 5's, Safety, Environmental, Corporate, Sarbox, among others requested by customers.
