Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Entity Finance Manager

Scope of Position:
Ensures Corning Reynosa is in compliance with local regulations, GAAP accounting principles and Corning policies and procedures. Ensures the successful execution of Finance & Business processes (closing, account payables, budgeting, reporting, financial, and tax audits). Develops the necessary Finance expertise in order to stay compliant with GAAP and local regulations.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:
* Implements and ensures entity adherence to internal finance controls including data and reporting standards and compliance procedures that protect Corning's assets. (e.g., Sarbanes Oxley regulations, internal and external audits).

* Ensures timeliness, accuracy, and consistency of reporting with GAAP, statutory, and tax accounting requirements.

* Leads efforts to implement corrective actions that result from audits/assessments to ensure financial compliance within the entity. Manages compliance and tax audits.

* Works closely with plant controlling and other plant functions to ensure Corning Reynosa’ shared finance function objectives are aligned with business requirements

* Ensures local GAAP and Tax requirements are met

* Manages finance function processes for the Reynosa campus (i.e. Accounts Payable, General Ledger, reporting, Tax and Shared cost centers).

* Implements projects and initiatives within the entity as required to meet the business and/or function objectives

* Executes complexity reduction initiatives within the entity to further drive finance process efficiency.

* Selects and develops talent to support entity Finance talent needs and ensure appropriate staffing levels based on operational volatility.

* Defines, analyzes and reports service performance metrics to drive process excellence and low cost services.

* Support other functions and projects as assigned based on business objectives.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration


Required Years and Area of Experience:
5 - 10 years of relevant management experience in a maquiladora industry

Required Skills:
* Knowledge of financial and management accounting, including systems, compliance and reporting requirements in a Mexican maquiladora environment

* Strong technical accounting experience and Foreign Currency treatment
* CPA, CMA certification is a plus
*  Effective communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization

*  Strong SAP Finance and Excel Skills
* Supervisory experience
* Ability to act under pressure in fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines

*  Ability to develop direct reports and others

*  Fully Bilingual (English-Spanish)
