Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose: Support the Facilities and Engineering team in updating and standardizing HVAC system drawings and layouts. This includes verifying equipment locations, chilled water lines, drainage, and air handling units (AHUs). The intern will assist in documenting as-built conditions, revising CAD drawings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and alignment with current installations.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in reviewing and updating HVAC system drawings using AutoCAD or Revit
- Conduct on-site verification of mechanical equipment and piping layouts
- Document discrepancies between existing drawings and actual installations
- Support the creation of updated as-built documentation
- Collaborate with engineers and facility staff to ensure drawing accuracy
- Participate in meetings and walkthroughs to gather field data
- Maintain organized records of updated layouts and revisions
- Ensure all updates comply with safety and quality standards
- Provide general support to the Facilities and Engineering teams
Experiences/Education - Required

Student or recent graduate in Architecture or Civil Engineering.

English proficiency: Writing and Reading 70% – 90% acceptable.
Skills
- Familiarity with construction site practices
- Knowledge of building codes and HVAC standards
- Experience with field data collection or surveying
- Interest in sustainable building systems and energy efficiency
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems integration.
