Food Service Specialist

  1. Purpose of Position.  
  1. This position will be exposed specifically to the food services provided by Corning in the Reynosa campus. Under the Corporate Food Services or HR Group group the intention of this position is to be the link between the Food Vendor contractor and Corning.



  1. Mention the major responsibilities and tasks of the position.
  1. Administrate all the interactions and services of the Food Services suppliers and Corning
  2. Regulate all the performance of the food services contractors against the contractual agreement
  3. Create and manage inventory cycles for Cutlery, kitchen utensils and equipment in the campus for contract requirements
  4. Participating in HR and food services contractor projects for continuous improvement
  5. Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standard to meet corporate, government, and all Mexican laws and regulations
  6. Assisting in the communication and implementation of all Corporate, HR, and Medical Nutrition and food safety initiatives, policies and programs
  7. Deploy the Corrective and preventive actions for all related to Food Services and facilities
  8. Interacts with Client Management and maintains effective client and customer relations at all levels of client organization for the Reynosa Campus Food Services.
  9. Manage logistics for all the caterings, special services, events and trainings needs across the campus

      5.    Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements.


       A. Education.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Food Services Management



           B. Work Experience.

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in the Food Services Management
  • Experience with the administration of food policies, programs, practices and standards.
  • Effective communication (listening, verbal and written) skills with clients, customers of client and support staff
  • Demonstrated ability to understand food cost and the usage of food.
  • Demonstrated attention to the achievement of high quality standards coupled with a proven track record in identifying defects in the preparation and service of food and the implementation of improved quality control procedures.
  • Strong Food Service and Catering background.
  • Ability to write letters, summaries and reports, using prescribed format and conform to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style.
  • Requires management and leadership skills and the ability to work with confidential employee, client and Corning information.
  • Demonstrated ability to responding effectively and efficiently to changing client demands.
  • Directs all contract services.

    A. Contribute and participate in Internal and External Audits in department, as well as being responsible for the good results of such.

        Some examples of Audits are: ISO, TL, 5’s, Safety, among others.
