Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Acts as global mobility/immigration services point of contact for employees considering international assignments to or from Mexico. Partners with Business leaders, BUHR, employees and immigration, global mobility and tax resources in the US and other regions to identify talent transfer opportunities/roles and supports employees in understanding potential career and benefits implications leading to informed decisions and improved retention.


  1. Major responsibilities:

This role provides support to the Corning Mexico locations and is responsible for:

  • Manage Relocation & Immigration program as well as the monitoring and tracking of all cases
  • Ensures proper adherence to payroll and tax requirements for Mexico talent
  • Work closely with Global Mobility department to ensure proper support for relocation during international assignments in/out of Mexico
  • Manage the policies and processes for international assignee immigration and global mobility
  • Manage day-to-day interactions with immigration and mobility vendors to ensure seamless experience for employee
  • Processing of U.S./EMEA and global visa/work permit authorizations


Required Experience.

  •           Minimum of 3 years immigration and mobility experience
  • Ability to work independently in a virtual or on-site, global team structure with flexibility to accommodate multiple time zones for team engagement, broader cross-functional collaboration, and direct support to colleagues on mobility
  • Interpersonal communication (both verbal and written)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters, maintaining privacy and confidentiality
  • Experience reviewing company policies and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Fully Bilingual (English/Spanish)
