Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
Develops IT solutions by creating and modifying software solutions. Analyzes system requirements and business processes. Creates prototypes, develops, tests, debugs, documents and implements systems. Has detailed knowledge of one skill area or basic knowledge of several skills. Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, and concepts and techniques. Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Works under general supervision. Follows established procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment and overall adequacy. May take on moderate size projects or several components of a large project. Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays in program schedules and may result in the allocation of additional resources. Primarily internal company contacts. Infrequently inter organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Modification of systems to fix errors, improve their performance and carry out updates
- Perform validations and tests on the systems to be released
- Programming and documentation of the generated systems
- Design and coding of software systems using the analysis carried out previously to the requirements
- Software applications project leader
- Meeting with requesters to discuss the scope of system improvements
- Provide support to system users
- Mentor skills
- High sense of urgency
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer systems
- 4 years .NET knowledge
- 4 years Programming languages C #, VB.Net, ASP MVC Web Applications, Web API, ASP.NET
- 3 years Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (create tables, stored procedures, views, jobs)
- Knowledge of programming languages including JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, jQuery and Bootstrap
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Engineering in computer systems or similar
- 4 years .NET knowledge
- 5 years Programming languages C #, VB.Net
- 3 years Knowledge of TSQL (stored procedures, views, jobs, SSIS)
- IDE VS 2012 or higher
- Creation of Windows Services
- Knowledge of API RESTful
- Knowledge to manage projects and SCRUM methodology
- Knowledge of WPF projects
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (SSIS)
- Knowledge of software systems and frameworks including Git, GitHub
