Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose: The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge in database programming using Python and in creating scorecards in Power BI. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in data analysis and report generation that supports strategic decision-making within the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Write or update documentation for APIs, internal tools, or processes
• Participate in code reviews to understand coding standards and practices
• Support with software validations and documentation for measurement applications
• Adapt and improve Data Sources for Data Analysts

Experiences/Education - Required

• Student in the final semesters of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. 

• Basic knowledge in database programming using Python. 

• Familiarity with Power BI and experience in creating scorecards and dashboards. 

• Ability to work with large volumes of data and perform basic analysis. 

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

• Good communication skills to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders. 

Desired Skills

• Solid understanding of C# syntax, OOP (classes, inheritance, interfaces)

• Experience with Windows Forms ( UI controls, event handling, data binding)

• Debugging and exception handling

• Knowledge of other BI tools and data analysis. 

• Knowledge of SQL and other database technologies. 

• Familiarity with agile software development methodologies.
