Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor and interpret international trade regulations, including export/import laws, tariffs, and sanctions.
- Ensure compliance with the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations, and other relevant trade laws.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation for import/export activities.
- Ensure accurate classification of products (US-MEX)
- File necessary export/import declarations and licenses with government agencies.
Internal Audits and Training:
- Conduct internal audits of trade compliance practices and procedures.
- Identify and address areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees on trade compliance policies and procedures.
Risk Management:
- Evaluate and mitigate risks related to international trade activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of trade compliance policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance on potential compliance risks and recommend strategies to minimize exposure.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with internal departments, including legal, logistics, procurement, and finance, to ensure compliance with trade regulations.
- Serve as a point of contact for customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other external partners.
- Respond to trade compliance inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in international Trade, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Trade Compliance and Customs.
- Experience with MEX and U.S. export/import regulations and international trade laws.
- Experience on Annex 30 and Annex 24
- Experience related to certifications as VAT, OEA and CTPAT.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong Knowledge and management of SAP and Prisma Software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- English bilingual.
Desired Qualifications:
- Professional certification in International Trade Agreements
- Experience in the management of an IMMEX
- Knowledge of global trade management systems and ERP systems.
