Role Purpose:
Corning is seeking a highly motivated International Trade Intern to support and sustain our critical certifications (CTPAT and OEA) for secure, compliant import/export operations in Mexico and the U.S. This role is strategic to strengthening Corning’s supply chain security, improving compliance processes, and reducing dependency on external consultants.
Responsibilities:
· Develop a deep understanding of CTPAT Minimum Security Criteria and OEA security and customs standards.
· Maintain and update compliance evidence, security profiles, threat assessments, and risk analyses.
· Support secure import/export operations by applying security requirements, ensuring cargo integrity, and managing supply chain security processes.
· Collaborate cross-functionally with teams like Security, Logistics, HR, Finance, Warehouse, IT, and Compliance to strengthen certification sustainment.
· Assist in sustaining certifications and progressively build skills to manage certification processes independently.
Required Education:
· Currently enrolled on bachelor degree for International Trade, International Business, or Supply Chain/Logistics.
Desired Skills:
· Strong interest in Customs, Trade Compliance, or supply chain security.
· Excellent organization, documentation, and follow-up discipline.
· Intermediate Excel skills (evidence tracking, action logs, dashboards).
· Ability to interpret security criteria, compliance checklists, and regulatory requirements.
· Analytical and research skills to understand regulation changes and apply findings effectively.
· Strong communication skills in Spanish and English.
