Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

The SAP Specialist will act as the key system expert for Trade Compliance, ensuring accurate configuration, transaction execution, and reconciliation of SAP with Prisma and other compliance systems. This role safeguards compliance with customs and trade regulations by maintaining system integrity, supporting audits, and enabling accurate reporting for imports, exports, and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and validate SAP transactions related to imports, exports, inventory movements, and customs regimes.
  • Ensure SAP master data integrity (material codes, tariff codes, vendor/customer data) aligns with trade compliance requirements.
  • Perform system reconciliations between SAP, Prisma, and customs records (e.g., Anexo 24/31).
  • Support implementation of process controls to reduce inventory discrepancies and compliance risks.
  • Provide training and guidance to users on SAP processes related to trade compliance.
  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) for SAP trade compliance modules during audits and system upgrades.
  • Collaborate with IT and trade compliance leaders to enhance system functionality and reporting.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, International Business, or related field.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP (MM, WM, SD, GTS preferred).
  • Knowledge of trade compliance processes (IMMEX, Anexo 24, COO, customs regimes, duty mitigation).
  • Experience with Prisma or other trade compliance tools is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.
  • Ability to train others and act as liaison between business users and IT.
