Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

Ensures and maintains a positive work environment and operates as “One Corning” in support of Corning’s values; Assists in successful implementation of global HR business processes within the plant (RAM, RWD and RCC); Ensures plant compliance with HR-related legal and regulatory guidelines; Involved in labor-management relations, formulates, and administers the company's labor relations policy, including the interpretation, and administration of collective bargaining agreements. Responsible of applying grievance procedures. Coordinate and deploy night shift solutions on topics related to labor relations, supporting the plants within the designated industrial park, to avoid unionized general discussions or conflicts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the plants within the designated industrial park, to avoid unionized general discussions or conflicts.
  • Communication with plant HR manager to inform and solve daily labor situations.
  • Report out plant labor relations metrics that are designated by plant HR manager.
  • Provide support and guidance at labor relations cases that applies.
  • Support at night shift to deploy cultural events and/or coordinate efforts.
  • Work closely with employee service coordinator to assure and deploy night shift employee services with quality and standardized.

Education

  • ​​​​​​Bachelor’s degree in related field, focus on Human Resources Management or Industrial/Labor relations preferred.

Experiences

  • At least +2 years of HR experience (labor relations)
  • Traceable unionized requirements and trouble solutions deployed.
  • Reporting labor relations key metrics to Plant HR
  • Efficiently communication meetings conducted at all levels
  • Successful track record in labor relations processes: terminations, disciplinary actions, etc.
