Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

Implement and maintain Corning’s labor relation programs, policies, and procedures in the Reynosa Campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execution of employee/labor relation programs and initiatives 
  • Ensuring healthy work relationships and a positive work environment in the Reynosa campus
  • Collaborate with Union representatives on behalf of the company
  • Assist all levels of management on labor matters
  • Collaborates with legal and employee relations COE and departments in the preparation for and participation in negotiation with employee and labor groups.
  • Collaborate for resignations, settlements, leave and absenteeism policies, as well as employee programs and procedures.
  • Work directly with designated areas to provide a direct contact with HR and support plant initiatives and actions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Develop solutions and decision-making on complex labor matters.
  • Execution of the strategy for the various manufacturing plants

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor’s degree at Law, Employee Relations or related field required.

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Proficient in verbal and written English language skills
  • + 5 years of professional experience on human resources and employee relations
  • Experience with external and internal Union in manufacturing environments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Labor relations, Legal, Migration and Compliance procedures knowledge
  • Thorough understanding of negotiation techniques and dispute resolution
  • Act as a team member, leader and/or facilitator
  • Ability to remain calm and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations
  • Ability to work effectively in matrix environment
