Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

This role leads end-to-end coordination of leadership and functional learning programs, provides instructional design support for curricula, assessments, and learning journeys, and delivers learning analytics and insights to measure program impact. The L&D Consultant leverages AI tools and adult learning methodologies to design scalable, innovative, and learner-centered solutions, while partnering closely with HRBPs, SMEs, and business leaders to address evolving learning needs.

Key Responsibilities

This role provides support to the Corning Mexico locations and is responsible for:

Program Execution & Project Management

  • Manage end-to-end coordination of leadership ( Managers & Supervisors) and functional learning programs (Leadership Program Portfolios, Engineering and Manufacturing upskilling, and other critical learning initiatives).
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously — from scoping through deployment — ensuring excellent communication, quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Operational ownership of key L&D initiatives, including logistics, tracking, vendor coordination, and program governance.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and content quality.

Instructional Design & Content Development

  • Apply instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles to ensure solutions are effective, scalable, accessible, and globally relevant.
  • Build storyboards, prototypes, scripts, learning assessments, and facilitator/learner materials.
  • Design curricula, assessments, and learning journeys aligned to business and learner needs.
  • Ensure deliverables are high quality, aligned to learning objectives, and optimized for global audiences.

Artificial Intelligence-Enabled Innovation (Nice to have, diferenciador)

  • Leverage AI tools (generative AI, adaptive learning platforms, automation tools, agents) to enhance content development, create personalized learning experiences, and streamline workflows.
  • Craft effective prompts to guide AI models in generating accurate, instructionally aligned content.
  • Uphold responsible AI practices, ensuring data privacy, fairness, and ethical use in all learning solutions.

Data-Driven Improvement & Learning Analytics

  • Analyze learner data, engagement metrics, and feedback to refine content and strengthen learning outcomes.
  • Build data-informed recommendations to enhance program effectiveness and report on business impact.
  • Provide reporting and insights that demonstrate the value of L&D to the organization.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with SMEs, HR Business Partners, and cross-functional collaborators to uncover learning needs and translate content into high-impact learning solutions.
  • Facilitate content reviews, gather input, incorporate revisions, and maintain strong relationships with partners and stakeholders.
  • Act as a proactive business partner with leaders and HRBPs to support evolving learning needs.
  • Represent the instructional design perspective in meetings, working sessions, and design reviews.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelors degree, preferred in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development or Labor Relations.
  • 2 years of experience in Learning & Development, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) or Organizational Development role.
  • Conversational English

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • English is a must.
  • Mastery of instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning methodologies. – Corroborar conocimiento teórico.
