Role Purpose

As a Maintenance Automation Engineer, you will support the reliability, maintenance, and performance of automated manufacturing equipment. You will help minimize downtime, strengthen preventive maintenance practices, and use technical analysis to improve equipment availability and operational efficiency. This role is ideal for someone who combines hands-on troubleshooting skills with a data-driven approach to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze equipment downtime, failures, and maintenance history to improve uptime, MTBF, and MTTR
  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities while supporting TPM and reliability initiatives
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose automation and controls issues involving PLCs, HMIs, motion systems, drivers, and robots
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions, optimize equipment performance, and support improvement projects

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong experience working with automated manufacturing equipment in an industrial environment
  • Hands-on knowledge of PLCs and HMIs, including platforms such as Allen-Bradley and Omron
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial automation systems, including robots, motor drives, sensors, and control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic diagrams
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance, reliability analysis, root cause problem solving, and continuous improvement tools
  • Strong collaboration, technical leadership, and communication skills, with a proactive and safety-focused mindset
