Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
Leads total maintenance and assets control, guaranteeing the availability and performance on our capacity levels to ensure the lowest cost of the product. Achieve TPM standards to the day-to-day activities through KPI’s tracking, planned maintenance, equipment and spare parts control, risk assessments, cross training, certifications, and wear tracking.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead with ownership of the asset’s reliability within plant through CMMS management system
- Execute maintenance strategy to achieve TPM standards based on roadmap
- Lead the MRO system to procure necessary variable expense to keep stable operations based on budget
- Root Cause and Reliability Analysis and taking ownership for ongoing corrective action tracking, implementation, and follow up to ensure that all Root Cause analysis projects are documented and sustained
- Analyzing equipment performance, failure data, and corrective maintenance history to develop and deploy engineering solutions, improved maintenance strategies, preventative maintenance optimization, and other reliability techniques
- Developing implementation plans and schedules to apply predictive maintenance techniques at our processes
- Evaluating effectiveness of predictive maintenance procedures and adjusting as necessary to increase the value of our offerings
- Involved in all equipment selection (design, development) manufacturing installation, start-up and acceptance (Pilot, Pre-Pro Runs & EEM)
- Collaborate with finance and engineering department for asset management on books
- Interface with external machine builders, system integrators, and suppliers to fabricate parts on-budget and fulfilling the technical scope when is appropriated
- Propose and implement iKaizen and Safety Kaizen (ergonomic devices and processes) to enable a safe work environment; support and perform 5S implementation in work area to achieve Plant goal
Experiences/Education
- Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronic, Industrial Engineering or related.
- + 5 year experience in manufacturing engineering
- + 2 year Previous supervisory experience
- Advanced English level
- Leadership potential demonstrated on project teams responsible for implementation of new processes or equipment into manufacturing
- Communication skills (verbal and written), problem solving and decision making
- Ability to effectively deal with certain levels of uncertainty, ambiguity, and change
- Experience developing maintenance strategies and metrics
- Experience handling Computerizing Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Understanding and experience on Lean Manufacturing
- Management and control of maintenance costs
- Spare parts and tooling management
- Root cause analysis experience
- Understanding of TPM methodology
