Role Purpose

Are you ready to lead high-impact manufacturing strategies and build a high-performing operation?

 

We are looking for a Manufacturing Lead to drive operational execution, manufacturing readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives across our operation. In this role, you will translate business priorities into shop-floor actions, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure the successful launch, ramp-up, and sustainable performance of manufacturing processes.

You will play a key role in strengthening safety, quality, delivery, productivity, capacity, and cost performance while developing a culture of operational discipline, ownership, and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the deployment of manufacturing strategies, process changes, production transitions, ramp-ups, and readiness activities.
  • Translate operational priorities into clear execution roadmaps, including milestones, owners, deliverables, risks, and measurable targets.
  • Ensure shop-floor readiness before launches by aligning labor, equipment, tooling, fixtures, materials, training, quality controls, and documentation.
  • Conduct capacity analysis to identify constraints related to labor, equipment availability, cycle time, throughput, bottlenecks, and demand coverage.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives to eliminate waste, improve flow, stabilize operations, increase output, and strengthen productivity.
  • Monitor and improve key operational metrics, including OTM, OTP, yield, RTY, density, productivity, utilization, output, staffing effectiveness, and schedule adherence.
  • Lead operational projects simultaneously, maintaining visibility of scope, priorities, schedules, risks, deliverables, and escalation needs.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Planning, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Automation, Finance, and Product teams.
  • Lead production qualification and operational launch-support activities, including capacity reviews, risk assessments, labor requirements, process capability, and recovery planning.
  • Promote a culture of safety, ergonomics, quality, compliance, standard work, visual management, 5S, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related technical field.
  • 4–6 years of experience in manufacturing operations, production leadership, process improvement, turnaround initiatives, or operational project execution.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives, manufacturing readiness activities, capacity evaluations, Lean projects, and production ramp-ups.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing readiness, production planning, capacity analysis, operational execution, and line performance monitoring.
  • Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing tools, including waste elimination, bottleneck analysis, flow improvement, standard work, visual management, and 5S.
  • Ability to use operational metrics to identify gaps, define recovery plans, and drive corrective actions.
  • Experience with project administration, including scope definition, milestone tracking, deliverable management, risk mitigation, stakeholder communication, and escalation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • English proficiency.

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network.
