Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
Lead or participate in a wide range of strategic projects that require broad skills, global involvement and experience in manufacturing operations, organizational design, product management and strategy development working with OCS Director VP Divisional Manufacturing
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate in development of global OCS Manufacturing Strategy
- Leading projects in support of management team to include OEA’s, Plant Review preparation, cost analysis, xMatrix and KPI reporting
- Management of OCS Manufacturing SharePoint sites
- Facilitation and support of weekly, monthly and specials project meetings for division staff
- Lead Special Projects such as planning system development, dashboard reporting and participation in digital transformation strategy
- Develop strategic response options, select, and recommend the best course of action, secure leadership support and drive into implementation for overall improvement in programs and initiatives
- Support execution of global business continuity development and management
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain or Business
- Plant strategist, Project Manager experience
- At least 5 years’ relevant experience in Plant Operations, Supply Chain or Product Management
- Capability to utilize strategic frameworks to formulate strategies
- Excellent written, presentation and verbal communications skills at multiple levels
- Strong understanding of OCS manufacturing operations
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Work independently, thoughtfully, and effectively in a dynamic working environment
- Strong analytical abilities with able to turn quantitative analysis into significant business insights
- Project management skills and experience leading complex projects
- Big picture thinking and the ability to see how decisions will ripple across the enterprise
- Lean Manufacturing, PQA, and DMAIC
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Cost of Quality knowledge
- Advanced Degree: Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration (MBA), or a related
- Project Management Certification: Certification in project management methodologies, such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or Agile frameworks.
- Data Analytics Proficiency: Strong skills in data visualization tools and advanced statistical software
