Marketing Communications Manager

What is your role?

As Communications Manager, you will lead the communications function for Corning Optical Communications in Mexico. You will develop and implement strategic internal, external, and operational communications that keep employees informed, engaged, and connected to business priorities.

This role will also help position Corning as an employer of choice in Reynosa and Monterrey, while supporting initiatives that strengthen the company’s brand, reputation, and connection with local communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead high-profile corporate, internal, external, and operations communications projects.
• Partner with business leaders and key functions to identify, develop, and deliver communications that connect employees to business priorities.
• Advise on communication and engagement strategies for operational and change initiatives.
• Lead and develop the Mexico communications team, including coaching, capability building, and performance support.
• Support executive communications, including messages, scripts, talking points, Q&A materials, and speeches.
• Serve as the Mexico crisis communications lead for internal audiences.
• Maintain communication channels such as distribution lists, group codes, generic mailboxes, and related follow-up communications.
• Support branding, content creation, public relations, social media, and media relations initiatives.
• Develop stories for diverse audiences and build relationships with regional media and newsmakers.
• Measure communication effectiveness and recommend improvements.
• Travel approximately 5–10% of the time, as needed.

Experiences/Education - Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of communications experience within a large or complex organization.
• Strong written, verbal, and editing skills in English, with the ability to create clear, accurate, and compelling content across print, digital, and other channels.
• Excellent critical and creative thinking, project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and in a collaborative environment.
• Experience developing communication strategies for a range of stakeholder audiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills, executive presence, and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
• Working knowledge of traditional and emerging media, content platforms, and social media, including content creation, posting, monitoring, and engagement measurement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
