Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Micro Optics Engineer


Assist develop and introduce optical communication passive optical products to manufacturing. Apply fundamental understanding and engineering principles to analyze technical problems and support OEM business.   


Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to manufacturing, Division engineering, and production personnel
  • Support documentation for rapid product release
  • Assist design, build, optimize and test passive optical product prototypes and sub-assemblies
  • Assist introduce new product and process to manufacturing
  • Work in a project to optimize product or process design and implement the changes
  • Solve problems and improve processes based on fundamental understanding
  • Apply statistical tools to analyze optical assembly processes
  • Document work in technical reports and presentations
  • Collaborate with colleagues worldwide


Required Education

Bachelor or postgraduate degree in Physics or Engineering with emphasis in optics and  ≥3 years of relevant experience in passive optical components or fiber optics industry


Required Skills

  • Background in the manufacturing processes of optical components
  • Background in measurement of optical sub-assemblies
  • Fundamental knowledge about fibers and optical components
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to clearly express technical ideas
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint)
  • Written/verbal communication skills - advanced level of English language
