  1. Scope of Position

Develop and introduce optical communication passive optical products to manufacturing. Apply fundamental understanding and engineering principles to analyze technical problems and support Connectivity business.   

  1. Day to Day Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance to manufacturing, Division engineering, and production personnel
  • Support documentation for rapid product release
  • Design, build, optimize and test passive optical product prototypes and sub-assemblies
  • Introduce new product and process to manufacturing
  • Work in a project to optimize product or process design and implement the changes
  • Solve problems and improve processes based on fundamental understanding
  • Apply statistical tools to analyze optical assembly processes
  • Document work in technical reports and presentations
  • Collaborate with colleagues worldwide
  1. Required Education
    • Bachelor or postgraduate degree in Physics or Engineering with emphasis in optics and  ≥3 years of relevant experience in passive optical components or fiber optics industry
  2.  Required Skills
  • Background in design and assembly ptical components
  • Background in measurement of optical sub-assemblies
  • Fundamental knowledge about fibers and optical components
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to clearly express technical ideas
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint)
  • Written/verbal communication skills - intermediate and preferably advanced level of English language

  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Theoretical knowledge of design of optical sub-assemblies
  • Software skills (Labview, Python, …)
  • Background in the manufacturing processes of optical components
