Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
Works in conjunction with production, PLM, quality, divisional supply chain, technology and plant management to plan, execute and deliver high level of service and cash flow performance.
Identify and solve capacity constraints to support volatile demand. Develops and recommends plant inventory management strategies and lean tools to improve efficiency and drive solutions.
Provide direction and guidance to plant planners. Serves as a subject matter expert for planning, inventory management and ERP system use.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the overall planning, implementation, and optimization of all activities and support required for delivery of products to customers.
- Participate in monthly plant S&OP Partnership meetings to gain joint understanding and agreement at regional level.
- Develops and utilizes capacity models and tactical operating plans. Participates in demand/allocation management process.
- Accountability for raw material and finished goods inventory goals driven by strategic stocking decisions based on contract, business strategy, or material availability needs.
- Drive continuous improvements utilizing lean and six sigma supply chain tools (Value stream mapping, Kaizen, DMAIC, etc.)
- Reports and ensure plant meets targeted objectives for all delivery metrics including On-time Performance, Order Cycle Time, and order dating.
- Manages and supports new product implementation, for the final release to manufacturing operations.
- Other tasks as assigned by Supply Chain Manager.

Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelors in SC or related field (Industrial Engineering, International Business, others)
- 3-5 years Supply Chain experience or in roles as Planner/ Sr. Planner
- 1-2 years supervisory experience leading teams
- Experience SAP systems
- Customer services & Leadership skills
- Analytical team player with excellent problem-solving skills
Competencies (knowledge, skills, and behaviors)
- 100% Bilingual
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and solve complex problems
- Ability to work independently in a complex business and manufacturing environment
- Proficiency on MS Office (Power Point, Word and Excel)
- ERP systems knowledge
- APICS certification is a plus
- Soft skills: Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks for the team, adaptable and flexible, team player and customer focus

- Green Belt / Lean knowledge (deseable)
