Role Purpose
Support the execution of a scrap reduction initiative focused on minimizing inventory adjustments through a better understanding of end-to-end material flow. The intern will assist in identifying root causes of process variability, supporting corrective and preventive actions, and helping standardize quality and operational practices while gaining exposure to manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the analysis of inventory adjustments and scrap-related issues across the material flow process.
- Assist in root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa, and FMEA.
- Analyze statistical data, process trends, and historical information to identify variability and improvement opportunities.
- Help track action owners, deadlines, and effectiveness criteria for improvement initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement projects using Kaizen, Lean, and DMAIC methodologies.
- Coordinate and follow up on actions with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams.
- Assist in updating and maintaining quality and process documentation, including PCPD, control drawings, and quality standards.
- Prepare follow-up materials, reports, and presentations for project reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Quality Engineering.
- Interest in manufacturing processes, quality improvement, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work with data, metrics, and process documentation in a structured way.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable working in a shop-floor manufacturing environment.

- Understanding of manufacturing processes and process variability.
- Attention to detail and discipline in documentation and follow-up.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and basic data visualization.
