Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

  • Performs a variety of technical duties and activities including experimental procedures, collection of data from manufacturing processes, data analysis, graphical analysis, and carry out technical presentations.
  • Applies process engineering knowledge, skills and expertise from concept through delivery of process including necessary equipment at production areas.
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable variables to fully understand mechanistic root-cause.
  • Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining robust and sustainable solutions.
  •  Support projects under appropriate supervision and direction from responsible engineer or supervisor

Key Responsibilities

  • Support execution of roadmap and project portfolio. 
  • Support product and process improvement qualification plans.  Assist on developing technical reports for internal publication. 
  • Support problem-solving in manufacturing and Customer Notifications including root cause identification and propose resolution.
  • Work on problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Propose and implement Ikaizen and Safety Ikaizen.
  • Support and perform 5S implementation in work area to achieve Plant goal.
  • Support Global Standardization processes/projects. 
  • Understanding of cycle time in an assembly line (Takt time).
  • Execute cycle time studies & cycle time analysis.
  • Propose line design to optimize capacity, material flow, eq. utilization.
  • Propose Operation breakdown to improve productivity reduce cost.
  • Identify Manufacturing cycle times (MCT) according to production order Gantt.
  • Responsible of loading Part Number pending into SAP
  • Validates changes in product and process for standard improvement.
  • Execute Cost Roll up.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Education
  • Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronic Technical Career 
                    
  • Work Experience
  • 2-4 years experience in manufacturing engineering.
