Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Procurement PEx Lead
The Procurement Process Excellence (PEx) Lead will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing procurement processes within the supply chain procurement department. This position will involve providing comprehensive training and guidance to the procurement team, ensuring adherence to established procedures, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The PEx Lead will also be provide support for the EMDV process, a critical function related to creating new vendor IDs or updating supplier information in the SAP system pertaining to accounts payable. Additionally, the role entails providing expert guidance in invoice resolution, spearheading innovation and reporting development in PowerBI, and serving as a trusted liaison for both internal and external procurement audits.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and optimize procurement processes and procedures within the supply chain procurement department.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to enhance the procurement team's capabilities and ensure compliance with established best practices.
- Support the EMDV process, ensuring accurate and timely creation of new vendor IDs and updates to supplier information in the SAP system.
- Provide expert guidance and support in addressing invoice resolution issues, working closely with stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
- Innovate and develop reporting capabilities in PowerBI to enhance data analysis and enable informed decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and drive initiatives to streamline procurement operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external procurement audits, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
- Utilize advanced knowledge of SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to effectively manage procurement activities, including purchase order creation, vendor management, and invoice processing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT and finance, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of procurement processes within the SAP system.
- Update procurement processes in Windchill and work with the global supply chain team to update processes in UPerform, ensuring accurate documentation and training materials are available for the procurement team.
- Train and provide guidance for the supplier consignment process, import/export process, and platforms, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and optimizing efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with the Internal Control department to ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance requirements in procurement processes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain procurement, with a strong focus on SAP knowledge.
- Demonstrated proficiency in procurement processes and procedures, particularly within the SAP system.
- Leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong analytical acumen, enabling the identification of process improvement opportunities and the implementation of effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex ideas and concepts clearly and concisely.
- Bilingual
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex vendor relationships and negotiations.
- Experience with Windchill and UPerform or similar systems for process documentation and training.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with the Internal Control department to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
