Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose: Performs a variety of key technical duties and activities. Leads projects to improve overall process and technical efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Achieve significant material cost reductions without compromising product quality.
• Develop a scalable process for evaluating and implementing resin alternatives across business units.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, quality, and manufacturing teams.
• Conduct research and data analysis to support decision-making.
• Document findings, processes, and recommendations for future implementation.

Experiences/Education - Required

• Student in the final semesters of a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 

Skills

• Technical Expertise: Basic understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to interpret data and propose practical solutions.
• Research Skills: Capable of conducting technical and market research.
• Interpersonal and Collaboration Skills: Comfortable working in cross-functional teams.
• Project Management Skills: Organized and able to manage tasks and timelines.
• Technical Tools: Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint; basic knowledge of C# or other programming languages and SQL is a plus.
