What is your role?

As a Product and Process Engineer, you will be the key technical expert for our released products and standard manufacturing processes, responsible for their integrity, reliability and performance. Acting as a link between product development and plant manufacturing, you will provide the technical judgment needed to balance business demands with product assurance. Collaboration is key: you partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Technology and Engineering teams every day. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technically rigorous root cause analyses, using advanced methodologies to resolve product and process performance issues.
  • Review, approve or reject product and process changes, and define the qualification test plans that make sure each change keeps the product's fit, form and function.
  • Identify, validate and execute cost reduction opportunities through alternate materials, suppliers and process improvements.
  • Respond quickly to customer and commercial requests for product changes, and partner with Product Development on rapid adaptations of existing products.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical or Engineering, or a related technical area
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, development, product or process engineering
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Project management knowledge
  • Good communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
  • Self-starter who is organized and adapts well to ambiguity and change
  • Professional English, both verbal and written

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications.
