Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

The Recruiter works across the full lifecycle and is key to identifying candidates who are the right fit for our specific business needs, as well as Corning’ company culture. Using all methods available: sourcing, networking, advertising, events, and job fairs to name a few, the Recruiter will partner with hiring managers and own all aspects of the hiring process. This role is responsible for ensuring an exceptional candidate experience throughout every stage of the recruiting process, including the release of candidates. This role guides managers through the hiring process from opening the requisition to hiring the new team member.   

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with teams to deeply understand hiring needs and project plans recruiting. 
  • Develops individual hiring plans that meet the nuances and complexity of each department or open role. 
  • Partner with leaders to develop screening criteria and interview questions to uncover the information needed from candidates. 
  • Review resumes, screen qualified candidates, source and present to the company to candidates for our open roles. 
  • With hiring managers, coordinate interviews & phone screens.  
  • Guides internal interview debrief and communicates status to candidates. 
  • Drafts offer letters with comp&ben to extend job offers.  
  • Partners with HRBPs to create a smooth transition from offer acceptance to new hire on-boarding. 
  • Leads assigned recruiting projects such as employer branding, referrals bonus program updates, recruitment marketing, college recruiting, community outreach, sourcing tools. 
  • Keeps fingers on the pulse of talent pool information as needed 
  • Perform other duties as required. 

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, Organization Development or equivalent qualification/experience

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • 2+ a 4 years of recruiting experience. 
  • Strong desire to identify and connect with great talent aligned to the mission, values, and goals.
