Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
As Maintenance Supervisor, you will help ensure the effective operation of equipment, machinery, and facilities. You will lead maintenance personnel, coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment installations, and support safe, efficient operations through strong technical guidance and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise Maintenance Engineers and technicians performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on production and facility equipment.
- Develop maintenance schedules, work orders, and assignments, and ensure timely execution of maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting activities.
- Diagnose equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions that reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Coordinate equipment installation and maintenance projects while supporting safety, environmental, operational, recordkeeping, inventory, supplier, and service provider requirements.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- Solid experience in industrial maintenance, including production equipment troubleshooting and equipment reliability.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervision experience with large or multi-shift maintenance teams.
- Ability to balance administrative and people leadership with hands-on technical maintenance knowledge.
- Experience establishing priorities, following up on commitments, and working with internal customers.
- Working knowledge of maintenance KPIs, including uptime, MTTR, MTBF, and OEE.
- Bilingual Spanish and English communication skills.
