Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Scope of position:

The manufacturing engineer will be learning the different processes to provide support during the validation process of the production lines and the qualification of the products. In addition after we received approval to release to manufacturing, the manufacturing engineer will be participating in the NPI and providing support to the production lines.



  • Provides day-to-day problem solving support to production, quality, and technology
  • Trains trainers and technicians on new equipment and processes
  • Troubleshoots material, processes, and equipment issues.
  • Identifies root cause and implements corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Implements and documents through change management any material, process and/or equipment changes
  • Uses statistical methodologies for problem solving and improvements
  • Performs capability study for processes and products
  • Establishes roadmap for improvement
  • Supports new product introductions through equipment installation, execution of process certification plans, documentation, and training
  • Ensures equipment and processes comply with safety and environmental regulations
  • Analyzes and reports product line yield, scrap, and OEE/OLE (where applicable)
  • Perform/verify time studies and update labor routings and BOM as required
  • Participate or lead product line improvement projects using standardized methodologies
  • Core team meeting member
  • Variable configurator manufacturing representative (where applicable)
  • Use statistical tools for problem solving, improvements, specification issues and create project plans if required
  • Perform capability study for processes and products and establish roadmap for improvement





Required Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Physics or related engineering


Required Experience

  • 5 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent

  • Bilingual
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic business/manufacturing environment
  • Ability to interact with all business levels
  • Good presentation skills
