Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Job Purpose:
The Production Sr. Planner will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing production plans, ensuring proper alignment between installed capacity and customer demand. This role utilizes advanced tools such as SAP and Microsoft Office to optimize processes, improve operational efficiency, and guarantee exceptional customer service.
Main Responsibilities:

Production Planning:
- Design and manage short-, medium-, and long-term production plans to ensure operational objectives are met.
- Conduct capacity and resource analysis using SAP transactions like CM01.
- Modify and adjust production orders using SAP CO02 to ensure proper plan execution.
- Monitor material status and production orders via SAP MD04, ensuring availability and adherence to committed deadlines.

Inventory Management:
- Supervise inventory levels of materials and finished products using SAP transactions such as LS26.
- Ensure availability of critical materials for production, preventing disruptions in manufacturing processes.
- Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to optimize inventories and reduce operational costs.

Analysis and Reporting:
- Generate planning and production reports using SAP transactions like ZV40N.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production and inventory.
- Analyze historical data and trends to propose improvement and optimization strategies.

Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Facilitate communication between production, purchasing, and sales departments to ensure alignment of objectives and execution of plans.
- Attend follow-up meetings, ensuring a comprehensive view of operations and promoting collaboration across teams.

Process Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for improvement in planning and execution processes.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with internal teams, promoting efficiency and cost reduction.
Technical Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning or demand planning.
- Technical Skills:
- SAP: Proven experience using transactions such as MD04 (Material and requirements status), CO02 (Production order modification), CM01 (Capacity analysis), LS26 (Inventory status), and ZV40N (Sales and planning reports).
- Microsoft Office: Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, macros desirable), PowerPoint, and Word.
- Languages: Advanced English (ability to communicate fluently both orally and in writing).

- Communication: Ability to clearly and effectively convey ideas, adapting to different audiences and organizational levels.
- Leadership: Capability to lead projects and coordinate teams, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.

- OTP (On Time to Promise): Meeting delivery commitments on promised deadlines to customers.
- PLT (Promised Lead Time): Efficiency in fulfilling promised response times for orders.
- OD (Order Dating): Accuracy and punctuality in scheduling and committing to delivery dates.
