Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
Develop new manufacturing processes, and methods, Improve existing manufacturing processes and capabilities, Develop and document process controls, Develop methods and processes for the manufacture of new products, Support manufacturing improvement initiatives, including variability reduction, defect reduction, process control improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Individual contributor, lead or team member with ownership of a part of the accomplishment within Business
Lead Engineering resourses in the development and improvement of process and equipement.
Evaluation process cost, quality, and capability alternatives, institutes continuous improvements to existing manufacturing operations through process automation semi automation
Plan, organize and execute work streams on projects to deliver process improvement
Project work scope typically includes equipment selection manufacturing installation, start up and acceptance
Utilize statistical tools to support robust manufacturing processes.
Experiences/Education - Required
Good problem solving and decision making processes and skills
English skills
Green Belt Certification
Good understanding of statistical analysis
Lean Manufacturing knowledge
Leadership potential demonstrated on project teams responsible for implementation of new processes or equipment into manufacturing.
Good Project Management knowledge
Experiences/Education - Desired
