Sr. Buyer


Purpose of Position.   

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop suppliers and material schedules to satisfy production requirements for high volume multi-product manufacturing operation: monitor supplier performance: analyze supplier effectiveness and initiate corrective action when necessary: negotiate contracts resulting in a minimum of $5MM in purchases: apply MRP requirements with coordinating suppliers and production: assist in establishing and monitoring supplier qualifications: and, assist in supplier site audits.


Responsibilities and tasks of the position.

  1. Collect data, analyze and summarize supplier qualifications and performance.
  2. Initiate and conclude effective corrective action for suppliers that fail to provide timely response to problems.
  3. Review MRP requirements and select suppliers that will effectively meet those requirements.


  • Bachelor of science or bachelor of business degree.             


       B. Work Experience.

  • 5+ years of experience negotiating and purchasing for a manufacturing facility.
  • MRP II purchasing.               


       C. Additional Skills.

  • Bilingual.     
  • Analyze data and manage purchase and production materials requirements in a MRP II Environment
  • Prioritize and manage multiple, complex tasks and complete all tasks on time, every time.
  • Communicate effectively (verbally and in written form). 
  • Act as a team member, leader and/or facilitator.
  • Make and communicate decisions.
  • Plans and schedules rapidly changing requirements.
