Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Responsible for execution of Global Supply Management (GSM) strategies to manage sourcing of quality products, equipment and services.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  1. Champions and ensures compliance with the Global Buying Policy (GBP) along with utilization of standard Global Supply Management (GSM) source-to-pay (S2P) processes and tools
  2. <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Develops playbook for OCS material consignment and vendor management programs with suppliers including coordinating with suppliers to view on site locations, facilitating with SC Managers at plant to set required stocking levels with suppliers, track performance of Consignment/VMI suppliers, and develop continuous improvement initiatives to drive program.
  3. <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Conduct analysis to drive supplier catalog solutions within SAP and other Buying solutions as designated by GSM Promotes and proliferates appropriate utilization of buying channels and procurement tools (p-cards; e-catalogs, requisitions, and purchase orders, etc.)
  4. <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Creates and maintains contractual documents in ARIBA system (Supply Agreements/SOWs, Pricing Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA), Certificates of Insurance (COI), etc.)
  5. <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Works closely with requisitioners, suppliers, receiving, and Corning Shared Services (CSS) to resolve invoice issues and identify root cause and corrective action
  6. <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Responsible for all Vendor Add/Change/Maintenance requirements Protects Intellectual Property (IP) and proprietary information
  7. <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Conducts data analysis, metrics reporting, purchasing information
  8. <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Supports category management with key strategies/initiatives


Required Education:  Bachelor's degree (Finance, Supply Chain, Business Admin)

Required Years and Area of Experience: 5+ Years

  1. Extensive SAP experience
